SYNOPSIS

Parental notification and minor patient consent

R.C. 3798.05

Specifies that the bill's requirement that a health care provider annually inform a minor patient's parent or legal guardian about circumstances in which a minor is permitted to receive health care without parental consent and that disclosure of medical records may not be made without the minor's consent, does not apply when the provider renders services to the minor patient on an episodic basis or in an emergency department or urgent care center, when it should not be reasonably expected that services will continue.

Requires that the annual notice described above include notifying the parent that the minor patient's consent for parental access to medical records applies only to records regarding care provided by the health care provider that obtained the consent.
