In line 2 of the title, after "JROTC" insert "or NDCC"

In line 7, delete "that offers a junior"

Delete lines 8 and 9

In line 10, delete "States Code"; delete "that program" and insert "either of the following programs it offers and that is approved under Title 10 of the United States Code"

In line 12, after "Code" insert ":

(A) A junior reserve officer training corps (JROTC) program approved by the congress of the United States;

(B) A national defense cadet corps (NDCC) program approved by the secretary of a military department of the United States armed forces, as defined in section 5910.01 of the Revised Code"

Delete lines 13 through 26

After line 26, insert:

"Sec. 3317.166. The department of education and workforce shall include in the calculation of a city, local, exempted village, or joint vocational school district's career-technical education funding any program designated by the district as part of its career-technical education program under section 3313.907 of the Revised Code. For that purpose, the department shall determine in which category of career-technical education programs under section 3317.014 of the Revised Code to include those types of programs."

SYNOPSIS

Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) and National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) as career-tech education

R.C. 3313.907 and 3317.166

Permits a school district that offers a National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) program approved by the secretary of a military department of the U.S. Armed Forces to designate that program as part of the district's career-technical education (CTE) program.

Requires the Department of Education and Workforce to calculate career-technical education (CTE) funding for a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program designated as a CTE program by a school district, rather than requiring it to approve a JROTC program under its CTE program approval process.

Requires the Department to calculate CTE funding for an NDCC program designated as a CTE program by a school district.
