A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team as the 2025 Academic Decathlon State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team on winning the 2025 Academic Decathlon State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team are a remarkable group of young academicians, combining talent and competitive spirit with exceptional knowledge to establish themselves as truly exemplary students. With commendable dedication, they performed admirably against teams from across the state, and as a result, they won this year’s state championship, their fifteenth consecutive state crown; and

WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for this important contest, the members of the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team have had the opportunity to develop and express their individual abilities and to acquire knowledge and information that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. Having worked diligently to sharpen their skills, they confronted competition with confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as worthy representatives of their school, community, and state; and

WHEREAS, The accomplishments of the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team are a justifiable source of pride not only for the students but also for their coaches, their families, their school, and their community. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their participation in this exciting activity will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team on its remarkable success and offer best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Oakwood High School Academic Decathlon team.
