A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Mansfield Playhouse on its One Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Mansfield Playhouse on its Centennial; and

WHEREAS, This significant milestone is a fine time to acknowledge the Mansfield Playhouse, for this troupe has achieved a fine reputation in the area since its establishment a century ago as the Community Players. A creative and talented group of individuals, the members of the company have demonstrated exemplary initiative, enthusiasm, and perseverance in developing and sharing their skills in preparation for each of their performances, and their unwavering commitment to excellence has undoubtedly earned them a reputation as gifted and competent artists; and

WHEREAS, The second oldest continuously-producing community theater, as well as the largest producing company, in Ohio, the Mansfield Playhouse has experienced tremendous prosperity and become a beloved organization for area residents. Clearly, the troupe’s dedication to the best interests of its patrons has been evident in all of its endeavors; and

WHEREAS, In this time of increased emphasis on industry, science, and technology, it is reassuring to note that our nation’s strong artistic heritage is being perpetuated and advanced through the efforts of concerned individuals such as the members of the Mansfield Playhouse. All those who have given of their time, energy, and resources to bring the company’s productions to fruition have clearly shown the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on life in our society, and we applaud them on their outstanding work; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Mansfield Playhouse as it celebrates its One Hundredth Anniversary and salute its members and staff as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Mansfield Playhouse.
