A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Madison Henkel on winning a 2025 Division II State Track and Field championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Madison Henkel as the 2025 Division II State Track and Field Champion in the long jump; and

WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Madison Henkel is deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a junior member of the Shelby High School girls track and field team. At this year’s Division II State Meet, she won first place in the long jump with a leap of 18 feet, 9.25 inches, and her noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others; and

WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Madison Henkel has learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life. Through her outstanding efforts, she has inspired countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has set an example worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of countless youth, we are delighted to congratulate such a fine athlete as Madison Henkel; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Madison Henkel on her 2025 Division II State title and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Madison Henkel.
