A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Kamille Smith as a 2025 Division I State Track and Field Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Kamille Smith on winning the 2025 Division I State Championship in the shot put; and

WHEREAS, A senior at Pickerington High School Central, Kamille Smith has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in her events, and as a result, she placed first in the shot put with a toss of 49 feet, 6.75 inches at this year’s Division I State Meet and second in the discus with a throw of 143 feet, 6 inches; and

WHEREAS, Kamille Smith’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay tribute to Kamille Smith on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Kamille Smith as the 2025 Division I State Track and Field Champion in the shot put and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Kamille Smith.
