A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Hotel Lakeside on the occasion of its Sesquicentennial.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Hotel Lakeside on the memorable occasion of its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary celebration and rededication ceremony; and

WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a fitting tribute to Hotel Lakeside, for since its establishment fifteen decades ago, this historic building has achieved a praiseworthy record of service to the community. Indeed, it is considered by many to be a cornerstone of the Lakeside Chautauqua region, and its success is a fine reflection not only on the edifice itself but also on the countless local residents that have joined to celebrate this anniversary; and

WHEREAS, By welcoming innumerable people to the Lake Erie area, Hotel Lakeside has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and it has earned the gratitude and respect of the community and guests it has so capably served. We are confident that as this site begins a new chapter in its existence, it will continue in the tradition of excellence which has been the hallmark of the hotel; and

WHEREAS, In this modern era, in which the durability of goods and values is often measured in months and days rather than in years and decades, it is not only enlightening but also satisfying to discover that some representations of the past still remain for future generations to admire. Indeed, Hotel Lakeside stands as a bridge connecting the present and the past, and such a venerable and distinguished landmark is deserving of high praise; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Hotel Lakeside on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary and salute all those taking part in its rededication; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Hotel Lakeside.
