A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Gianna Ritchie on winning a 2025 Division III OHSAA State Track and Field Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Gianna Ritchie as the 2025 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III State Champion in the 800-meter run; and

WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Gianna Ritchie has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a runner. As this year’s Division III State Champion in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.79, she has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS, In displaying such outstanding prowess as a member of the Lake Center Christian School track and field team, Gianna Ritchie has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exemplary record of achievement; and

WHEREAS, Running is an event that requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Gianna Ritchie is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In striving to attain her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Gianna Ritchie as the 2025 OHSAA Division III State Champion in the 800-meter run and salute her as a fine Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Gianna Ritchie.
