A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Sidney First Presbyterian Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Sidney First Presbyterian Church on its Bicentennial; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, Sidney First Presbyterian Church has offered its members the pathway to a more meaningful life by illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on which the church was founded. The spirit of love and Christian fellowship that exists among the parishioners not only prevails within the church edifice itself but also extends beyond those sacred walls to touch the lives of everyone encountered by these devout disciples; and

WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its pastors, Sidney First Presbyterian Church has experienced continual growth and has provided a source of moral guidance and spiritual motivation for each of its members. Over the years, the church has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its generous efforts, it has earned the gratitude and respect of the many citizens it has so capably served; and

WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone. For two hundred years, the members and leadership of Sidney First Presbyterian Church have remained ever faithful, and on this special anniversary, they have accepted the challenge of carrying their beliefs into the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Sidney First Presbyterian Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous event; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sidney First Presbyterian Church.
