A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University dance team as the 2025 UCA & UDA College National Division IA Jazz Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to The Ohio State University dance team on securing the 2025 Universal Cheerleading Association & Universal Dance Association College National Championship in the Division IA jazz category; and

WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of The Ohio State University dance team have combined talent and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable dedication, the Buckeyes have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in their sport, and as a result, they won this year’s Universal Cheerleading Association & Universal Dance Association National Championship in the Division IA jazz category, their second consecutive title and sixth such crown since 2018, and placed second in the pom category; and

WHEREAS, The Buckeyes’ achievements and leadership are a direct reflection of the prowess of the dancers and their coach, Melissa McGhee. In leading her team to victory, Coach McGhee has not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate The Ohio State University dance team on its tremendous season and salute the members and coach as fine citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University dance team.
