A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Elena Aldrink as the 2025 Division I State Champion in girls cross country.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Elena Aldrink on winning the 2025 Division I State Championship in girls cross country; and

WHEREAS, A senior member of the Olentangy Liberty High School girls cross country team, Elena Aldrink has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency as a long-distance runner, and as a result, she finished with an impressive time of 17:25.90 to win this year’s Division I State Championship title; and

WHEREAS, Elena Aldrink’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her coach, Jamie Gilbert, and the whole of the Patriots school community. Her unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Elena Aldrink on an exemplary season. Indeed, the maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in sports will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Elena Aldrink on securing the 2025 Division I State Championship in girls cross country and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Elena Aldrink.
