A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Miami Fort Generating Station on its One Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Miami Fort Generating Station as it celebrates the One Hundredth Anniversary of its founding; and

WHEREAS, This is, indeed, an important occasion, and it provides an ideal time to acknowledge the illustrious history and vital contributions of the Miami Fort Generating Station. Commencing operation in 1925, this coal-burning power station has experienced tremendous growth and expansion, including the addition of two new units, and it currently generates 800 megawatts of electricity each day; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, Ohio has faced an ever increasing demand upon its utility infrastructure, and the Miami Fort Generating Station has kept pace with these challenges, adopting new technologies and updating equipment to better meet the needs of our state’s residents. Indeed, the facility has continually demonstrated its exemplary commitment to the highest industry standards of efficiency and workplace safety, and its impressive record of service over the past century readily explains why it is so widely held in high esteem; and

WHEREAS, The noteworthy success of the Miami Fort Generating Station is attributable largely to the loyal service of the qualified and committed staff, as well as to the innovation and foresight of the management, and all those who have been involved with operations are to be applauded on their tremendous efforts. It is through the work of citizens such as these that Ohio continues to be a pleasant place in which to live; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Miami Fort Generating Station on its One Hundredth Anniversary and salute it as an exemplary facility; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Miami Fort Generating Station.
