A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Avon High School football team as the 2025 Division II State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Avon High School football team on winning the 2025 Division II State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Avon High School football team has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated performance of its members. Throughout the season, the athletes worked diligently to improve their skills on the field, and as a result, the Eagles accomplished their goals, bringing home this year’s state championship, their second consecutive title; and

WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Avon Eagles dedicated the 2025 season to the memory of their teammate, Jeremiah Kelly, and in endeavoring to further develop their skill, they transformed into a group of players whose remarkable efficiency has been equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork. They are a credit not only to their families and their school but also to the superb leadership of their head coach, Mike Elder; and

WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and coaches alike. The members of the Avon High School football team have exemplified the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of competition, including courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Avon High School football team on its 2025 Division II State Championship and offer best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Avon High School football team.
