A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Gary Blevins as the 2025 Sports Artist of the Year.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Gary Blevins on being named the 2025 Sports Artist of the Year by the United States Sports University; and

WHEREAS, A creative and talented individual, Gary Blevins has demonstrated exemplary initiative, enthusiasm, and perseverance in developing and sharing his skills, and as a result, he was selected as United States Sports University’s 2025 Sports Artist of the Year. A lifelong painter, he is the operator of the Gary Blevins Art Gallery in Springfield, which he opened in 2023, and he has become known for portraying various athletic figures and important moments in Ohio sports history. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him a reputation as a truly gifted local artist, and he is deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, Gary Blevins has worked tirelessly to develop his special talents of expression, and through his art, he has inspired and gained the respect of many. His noteworthy success is a justifiable source of pride for him and his family, and we are certain that as he further pursues his artistic interests, he will continue to make invaluable contributions to his community and to the world around him; and

WHEREAS, The arts are an integral component of our shared heritage, helping people communicate across national, cultural, and social platforms. Gary Blevins is to be applauded for his efforts to promote the arts in our society, thus enhancing the lives of those touched by this universal language; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Gary Blevins for outstanding artistic achievement and salute him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Gary Blevins.
