A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team on winning the 2026 Division IA National Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team on placing first in the Division IA mascot competition at the 2026 Universal Cheerleading Association and Universal Dance Association National Championship; and

WHEREAS, The talented individuals who make up The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team are, indeed, to be commended for their remarkable energy, creativity, and competitive drive, qualities which have figured prominently in the squad’s impressive performance at this year’s UCA and UDA National Championship. To their credit, the team members could always be counted on to support one another, and they can be justly proud of their accomplishment; and

WHEREAS, The members of The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team had spent countless hours preparing for the challenges of competition, and their exceptional performance at this year’s UCA and UDA National Championship has gained them many admirers. Clearly, their participation in this event has enabled them to learn much about creative expression, self-discipline, leadership, and dedication, and the experience they have acquired is certain to benefit them in the years to come; and

WHEREAS, The members of The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team have served as an inspiration to their peers. Their achievements are an excellent reflection not only on them but also on their families, their hometowns, their coaches, Ray Sharp and Tim Thiel, and the State of Ohio, and they are truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team for exemplary attainment and offer best wishes for continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University Brutus Buckeye mascot team.
