A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring College Club West on its One Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to College Club West on the commemoration of its Centennial, April 24, 2026; and

WHEREAS, One hundred years of existence is a distinctive milestone for College Club West, and this occasion provides the group with a unique opportunity to celebrate its countless philanthropic and social activities. Founded on May 6, 1926, to connect college-educated women interested in civic and cultural pursuits, this iconic club has become an invaluable resource to Cleveland and the surrounding communities through its thoughtful outreach during its long and distinguished history; and

WHEREAS, The State of Ohio continues to prosper thanks to the endeavors of organizations such as College Club West. Among its meaningful initiatives, the group has created an endowment fund to award college scholarships to women as well as provided continual support to numerous local nonprofits and agencies with the intent of improving the lives of Ohioans, and it has established a storied legacy of volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, The members of College Club West can always be relied upon to favor a worthy cause, and these exceptional people have made a lasting impact on the community through their admirable resolve and vision. We look with optimism to a society that will continue to thrive as a result of the efforts of all those who have comprised the organization, both past and present; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud College Club West for a century of exemplary presence in the community and salute its leadership and members as fine citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to College Club West.
