A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team on winning the Emerging Elite title at the 2026 Nike National Indoor Championships.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team on securing the Emerging Elite title at the 2026 Nike National Indoor Championships; and

WHEREAS, The talented Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team is, indeed, to be heartily commended for decisively earning the Emerging Elite crown with a school-record time of 1:45.28 at this year’s Nike National Indoor Championships. The squad’s performance reflects the outstanding collective effort by a gifted group of athletes, and without exception, the team has devoted countless hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning. Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends; and

WHEREAS, Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team members Princess Timko, Ashley Montgomery, Madison Henkel, and Karlie Walp have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that befit true champions. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have consistently maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. Time and again, they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging determination, and their impressive maturity and finesse have earned them widespread respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and

WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a host of adversaries, the members of the Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team have learned much about dedication, self-discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Their first-place finish is a measure of their stalwart commitment to the sport, and their indomitable spirit has made their families, friends, and coaches incredibly proud; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team on its brilliant performance and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Shelby High School girls 4x200-meter relay team.
