A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Oakwood High School speech and debate team on winning the 2026 OSDA State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Oakwood High School speech and debate team as the 2026 Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Champion; and

WHEREAS, The Oakwood High School speech and debate team members have worked tirelessly to develop their capabilities, and at the 2026 Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Tournament, they won first place for a second consecutive year. Indeed, they have amply demonstrated their ability to meet challenges with enthusiasm and confidence, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for this important contest, the members of the Oakwood High School speech and debate team have had the opportunity to develop and express their individual abilities and to acquire knowledge and information that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. They confronted competition with confidence and enthusiasm and distinguished themselves as worthy representatives of their school and community; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Oakwood High School speech and debate team have proven themselves to be conscientious and responsible students, and we are certain that they will continue to display the same unwavering dedication to excellence for which they have become known. They have exhibited a sincere desire to do their best in all of their endeavors so that they might fulfill their goals in the future, and this, coupled with their maturity and initiative, shows their potential to become some of tomorrow’s finest leaders; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Oakwood High School speech and debate team on its 2026 OSDA State Championship title and look with optimism to its ongoing success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Oakwood High School speech and debate team.
