A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the University School swimming and diving team on winning the 2026 Division II State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the University School swimming and diving team as the 2026 Division II State Champion; and

WHEREAS,  The members of the University School swimming and diving team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. The Preppers compiled an impressive record this season to win this year’s Division II State Championship, their fifth consecutive state crown, and the unwavering commitment of the swimmers and coaches has earned them the esteem of many. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, Coach Brian Perry has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the University School swimming and diving team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves in the pool, and he has received respect and admiration from all who know him; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, participation in athletics has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the University School swimming and diving team have gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the University School swimming and diving team as the 2026 Division II State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the University School swimming and diving team.
