A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team as the 2026 Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team on securing the 2026 Division I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team has achieved a tremendous feat, and the culmination of an exemplary 2025-2026 season was marked by scoring 173.5 points to win the first state crown in program history. The Yellow Jackets’ strong performance, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led the squad to this outstanding victory, and the group has earned the appreciation and admiration of many; and

WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of the Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team are fine examples of what can be attained by a group of hard-working young people supported by a dedicated coaching staff and by exemplary boosters. Throughout extensive conditioning and training, the members have developed into dynamic competitors, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and

WHEREAS, With great admiration, we congratulate the athletes who comprise the Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team, for they have overcome many formidable opponents and displayed tremendous prowess. Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their future challenges, they will take with them the lessons of camaraderie, diligence, and discipline; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, heartily applaud the Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team on its state championship and praise the strength of this program and its participating athletes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Perrysburg High School boys wrestling team.
