A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Anna Yang on placing first at the 2026 Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Competition.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Anna Yang on winning first place in the Novice/Middle School Extemp debate event at the 2026 Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Competition; and

WHEREAS, A member of the Ottawa Hills Junior High School speech and debate team, Anna Yang has amply demonstrated her ability to meet challenges with enthusiasm. In the pursuit of success in the Novice/Middle School Extemp debate event at this year’s Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Competition, she has shown an unwavering determination to attain her goals, and she has exhibited personal motivation and dedication of which she can be proud; and

WHEREAS, Undaunted by challenges, Anna Yang has routinely displayed unparalleled energy, skill, and initiative, and she has set a superb example of how very much a conscientious and industrious person can accomplish. Understandably, her leadership, maturity, and self-discipline have won her a host of admirers; and

WHEREAS, Anna Yang’s record of achievement demonstrates a true commitment to scholastic leadership. Without fanfare, she has proven herself to be innovative, resolute, and utterly dependable, and we encourage her to continue her academic excellence so that she may assume in the future a meaningful and productive role in our complex and challenging society; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Anna Yang as the Ohio Speech and Debate Association State Champion in the Novice/Middle School Extemp debate event and extend best wishes for the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Anna Yang.
