A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Natalia Botello as the 2026 NCAA Women’s Saber Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Natalia Botello on winning the 2026 NCAA Championship in the women's saber; and

WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Natalia Botello is deserving of recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a member of The Ohio State University women's fencing team. An exceptional athlete, she placed first in the saber at this year's NCAA Championships, becoming just the fourth individual champion in the women's program history, and earning All-American first-team honors, and her notable record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, Through her participation in sports, Natalia Botello has learned important lessons of perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life. With her outstanding work, she has inspired countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, for which she is deserving of applause; and

WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. In all of her sports endeavors, Natalia Botello has overcome a variety of challenges, and we are happy to congratulate this fine athlete; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Natalia Botello on winning the 2026 NCAA Women's Saber Championship and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Natalia Botello.
