A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team as the 2026 National Academic Quiz Tournaments Ohio State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team on winning the 2026 National Academic Quiz Tournaments Ohio State Championship title; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team are a remarkable group of young academicians, combining talent and ambitious spirit with exceptional knowledge in a wide range of subjects to earn this year's National Academic Quiz Tournaments Ohio State crown, their second consecutive such title. Throughout long hours of practice and preparation, competitors Alex Thapa, Maryn Stewart, Teddy Kolkovich, Owen Bian, Joe Deptowicz, Gabby Burnoski, and Mason Scarbrough have displayed a degree of determination and motivation of which they can be proud; and

WHEREAS, The success of the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team is a fitting tribute to the excellent leadership provided by its coaches, Sue Korosa, Malaki Fleming, and Josh Lam, who have given tirelessly of their time, energy, and expertise to guide these young scholars. The maturity and experience the students have gained through their participation in this event will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; and

WHEREAS, In preparing themselves for competition, the individuals who comprise the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team have had the opportunity to express their unique abilities and to acquire information and experience that will be of great benefit to them throughout their lives. Demonstrating a sincere desire to fully develop their skills, they are cultivating their ability to assume meaningful roles in our society as the leaders of tomorrow; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team on its tremendous performance and salute its members and coaches as fine Ohioans; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Copley-Fairlawn Middle School Quiz Bowl team.
