A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Ben LeBay on winning a 2026 Division III State Track and Field Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Ben LeBay as the 2026 Division III State Track and Field Champion in the 1600-meter race; and
WHEREAS, Ben LeBay's outstanding ability and spirited drive, as well as his quickness and tenacity, have distinguished him as a superior athlete and an exemplary senior member of the Woodridge High School track and field team. At this year's Division III State Meet, he placed first in the 1600-meter race with a personal best time of 4:13.50, and he has gained the respect and admiration of all those who have witnessed him in action; and
WHEREAS, Few events embody the spirit of individual accomplishment more than running. Athletes such as Ben LeBay exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of practice and competition, he has consistently demonstrated the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true competitor; and
WHEREAS, Through his participation in sports, Ben LeBay has learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him throughout his lifetime. Time and again, he has risen to the occasion, maintaining his morale, composure, and good sportsmanship, and he has set a fine example that is sure to inspire future generations; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Ben LeBay on his outstanding performance at the Division III State Track and Field Championship and offer best wishes for continued success; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ben LeBay.
