A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department on its Centennial.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department on the One Hundredth Anniversary of its founding, celebrated August 8, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department, for since its establishment in 1926, this fine agency has grown from its humble operations that started with an old Ford Model T pickup truck housed at the A.G. Birrell Company to its current expanded station at 8450 Ridge Road, and it has attained a praiseworthy record of service to local residents and businesses. Indeed, the department's achievements are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the organization itself but also on its astute leaders, on its hard-working members, and on the community it serves; and

WHEREAS, While many people are content to take a passive role in life, the members of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department have risked their own safety to ensure the well-being of their fellow citizens, and the enthusiasm and devotion to duty they have shown in all of their endeavors have earned them the gratitude and respect of all those they have safeguarded. We are certain that as they maintain their unwavering dedication to service, these individuals will continue in the tradition of excellence that has long been the department's hallmark; and

WHEREAS, We are delighted to honor the many members of the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department, both past and present, for they have proven themselves to be conscientious, valiant Ohioans. Considering the bravery, commitment, and self‑sacrifice of these heroes, it is no surprise that they inspire such trust and confidence, and without a doubt, their noteworthy accomplishments demonstrate the potential of individuals to have a positive effect on the quality of life in our society; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department on the memorable occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary and extend best wishes for ongoing prosperity; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kinsman Volunteer Fire Department.
