A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Marcus Adelman on winning the 3,200-meter run at the 2026 Division II State Track and Field Championships.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Marcus Adelman as the 2026 Division II State Track and Field Champion in the 3,200-meter run; and

WHEREAS, A senior at New Philadelphia High School, Marcus Adelman has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in distance running, and as a result, he placed first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 8:58.66 at this year's Division II State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS, Marcus Adelman's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and appreciation of many, and he is certainly worthy of high praise; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay tribute to Marcus Adelman on an exemplary 2026 season. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, praise Marcus Adelman on his athletic success and salute him as a skilled young Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Marcus Adelman.
