A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Seville United Methodist Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Seville United Methodist Church on its Bicentennial; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1826 by the Reverend John Hazzard, Seville United Methodist Church has offered its members the pathway to a more meaningful life by illuminating and demonstrating the precepts on which the church was established. The spirit of love and Christian fellowship that exists among the parishioners not only prevails within the church edifice itself but also extends beyond those sacred walls to touch the lives of everyone encountered by these devout disciples; and

WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its pastors, both past and present, Seville United Methodist Church has experienced continual growth and has provided a source of moral guidance and spiritual motivation for each of its members. Over the years, the church has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and it has engaged in an array of worthwhile activities and projects, including concerts, blood drives, and fundraising events, that have met a number of local needs; and

WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that represents dedication and commitment. For two hundred years, the members of Seville United Methodist Church have kept their faith alive in the community, and on this special anniversary, the congregation has accepted the challenge of carrying its beliefs into the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, extend special recognition to Seville United Methodist Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary and pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous event; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Seville United Methodist Church.
