A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Alex Taylor on winning a 2025 Division I State Wrestling Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Alex Taylor as the 2025 Division I State Wrestling Champion in the 285-pound weight class; and

WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Alex Taylor has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude. As this year’s Division I State Champion in the 285‑pound weight class, he holds the special distinction of being the first boys champion in program history, and in also winning the Central District, sectional, and Licking County League heavyweight championships, he has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS, In displaying such outstanding prowess as a member of the Mount Vernon High School wrestling team, Alex Taylor has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled him to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge his exemplary record of achievement; and

WHEREAS, Wrestling is a sport that requires exceptional strength, stamina, and natural ability, and Alex Taylor is to be commended for his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic goals, he has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Alex Taylor on his personal success and salute him as one of Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Alex Taylor.
