SYNOPSIS

Retirement system contributions and comparable pay

R.C. 102.10

Removes from the bill both of the following:

--A requirement that a gratuity accepted by a public hospitality employee under the bill be considered earnable salary for purposes of making contributions to the Public Employees Retirement System or compensation for purposes of making contributions to the School Employees Retirement System or an alternative retirement plan.

--A prohibition against any public agency paying a public hospitality employee who accepts a gratuity less than the regular compensation customarily paid to other public hospitality employees performing substantially the same services in similar positions.
