A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team on winning the 2025 Division III State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team as the 2025 Division III State Champion; and

WHEREAS, All those who comprise the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team have proven themselves to be assets to the superbly conditioned squad and have gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for their spirited and highly motivated performance. Throughout the season, the athletes worked tirelessly to improve their skills on the court, and as a result, the Cavaliers accomplished their goals, bringing home this year’s state championship and becoming just the fourth team in OHSAA history to win four consecutive crowns; and

WHEREAS, Known for its drive and determination, the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team has developed into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled only by an exemplary display of teamwork. The Cavaliers are a credit not only to the support of the school community but also to the estimable leadership of their coach, Jamar Mosley; and

WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and coaches alike. The members of the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team have exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of competition, including courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team on its 2025 Division III State Championship and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team.
