A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team as the 2025 Ohio Mock Trial State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team on placing first at the 2025 Ohio Mock Trial State Competition; and

WHEREAS, An intelligent and motivated group of individuals, the members of the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team are deserving of high praise for their diligent preparation for this year’s Ohio Mock Trial State Competition, which is sponsored by the Ohio Center for Law-Related Education and focused on the case of Denver Saidi v. Wyatt Latu. Indeed, these noteworthy students have developed their knowledge and skills, and consequently, they secured the Mock Trial State Championship title from among the other participating high school teams from across Ohio and advanced to the national competition; and

WHEREAS, This statewide accomplishment for all those who comprise the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team is a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on the members but also on the moderators and legal advisors that honed the group to prevail in the intellectual and procedural challenges presented at the Ohio Mock Trial State Championship. Through their tremendous efforts, these young competitors have set an example worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, Amply demonstrating their ability to meet legal and constitutional issues with enthusiasm and confidence, the participants of the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team have displayed a laudable willingness to work hard to achieve superior results. We encourage these young scholars to continue striving for excellence so that they may assume meaningful and productive roles in our complex society, and we applaud them on a job well done; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team on winning the 2025 Ohio Mock Trial State Championship and salute all those who have aided in its success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Archbishop Hoban High School Mock Trial team.
