A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Youngstown State University women’s bowling team as the 2025 NCAA Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Youngstown State University women’s bowling team on winning the 2025 National Collegiate Athletic Association Championship; and

WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Youngstown State University women’s bowling team have combined talent and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable dedication, Madyson Marx, Kirsten Moore, Jade Cote, Madison Doseck, Kara Beissel, Ellie Drescher, Lyndsay Ennis, Amanda Granata, and Hannah Miller have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in bowling, and as a result, they defeated a tough Jacksonville State University team by the score of 4-3 in a best of seven series to win this year’s NCAA Championship, the first national title by a women’s program in school history; and

WHEREAS, The Penguins’ achievements and leadership are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the bowlers, their families, their school, their community, and their coaches, Doug Kuberski and Mackenzie Olesky. In leading their team to victory, the coaches have not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coaches for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Youngstown State University women’s bowling team on its tremendous season and salute the members and coaches as fine citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Youngstown State University women’s bowling team.
