A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium on its One Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium on its One Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary, commemorated October 21-23, 2025; and

WHEREAS,  Opened in 1900, the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium can be justly proud of its illustrious history of conservation, community impact, and commitment to the future, and it has played a valuable role in local endeavors as well as in projects that have reached across the globe to Africa, Aruba, Brazil, Nepal, the Pacific Islands, and Tasmania. Indeed, it has become a respected resource, and its many outstanding accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the institution itself but also on its hard-working staff and volunteers; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium has witnessed many changes, and it now stands as a testament to the growth of its facilities and programs over the past one hundred twenty-five years. We are certain that as this worthy endeavor maintains its unfaltering devotion to service, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has become its hallmark and has enriched the lives of its visitors; and

WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is a significant milestone that represents dedication and vision, and on this special anniversary, the stewards of the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium can celebrate the splendors and wonders of wildlife and our natural world. We commend their estimable efforts to carry this important work into the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, praise the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium on its One Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary and salute it as a fine Ohio zoological institution; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium.
