A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church on its Centennial.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church on the memorable occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, In 1925, Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church was founded and organized by a group of people who appointed the Reverend Arthur Woods as pastor, and for the past one hundred years, this dynamic house of worship has served as a tremendous source of spiritual inspiration for its congregation. Indeed, it has encouraged countless people to pursue lives of service, learning, and fellowship; and

WHEREAS, This auspicious celebration offers the members of Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church the opportunity to share their memories and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community. Under the guidance of the Reverend Quentin D. Monroe, as well as his predecessors, the parishioners have expanded on the best traditions of the past to ensure a benevolent and prosperous future, and they can be proud of the remarkable examples they have set through their values and principles; and

WHEREAS, The members of Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church have stood strong in the face of numerous challenges, and they have had a positive impact on the lives of many local residents. Indeed, this important milestone represents their dedication and commitment to keep the faith alive in the Cincinnati community, and all those associated with this beacon of society are deserving of high praise; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church on its One Hundredth Anniversary and offer best wishes as it upholds its rich legacy of faith and fellowship in the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church.
