A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University pistol team on winning the 2025 National Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize The Ohio State University pistol team as the 2025 National Champion; and

WHEREAS, The members of The Ohio State University pistol team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. During the 2024-2025 season, the Buckeyes compiled an aggregate score of 4476 at the Intercollegiate Pistol Nationals to secure the national title, their fifth such championship in a row and their tenth since 2000. The unwavering commitment of the shooters and coach has earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, Head Coach Emil Milev has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding The Ohio State University pistol team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on the range, and he has received respect and admiration from all who know him; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of The Ohio State University pistol team have gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to The Ohio State University pistol team as the 2025 National Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University pistol team.
