A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Olentangy Orange High School football team as the 2025 Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Olentangy Orange High School football team on winning the 2025 Division I State Championship; and

WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Olentangy Orange High School football team have established themselves as truly exceptional competitors by combining talent and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship. With admirable dedication, the Pioneers worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in football, and as a result, they defeated a tough St. Xavier team by the score of 28-14 to win this year’s Division I State Championship, the first in program history, and finished the season with an impressive 15-0 record; and

WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the Olentangy Orange High School football team are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their families, their school community, and their head coach, Wesley Schroeder. Indeed, in leading the team to victory, Coach Schroeder has helped these athletes to develop great talent by instilling the valuable lessons of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total education of our young people, we are pleased to pay tribute to the exemplary athletes and the outstanding coaches of the Olentangy Orange High School football team for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Olentangy Orange High School football team on its tremendous 2025 season and salute the members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Olentangy Orange High School football team.
