A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Kirtland High School football team on securing the 2025 Division VI State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Kirtland High School football team as the 2025 Division VI State Champion; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Kirtland High School football team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be exceptional competitors by concluding a phenomenal season with a perfect 15-0 record and a thrilling win at the 2025 Division VI State Championship. The Hornets won the school’s eighth state football title with a 41-6 victory against the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains, and the unwavering commitment of the players and coaches has earned them the esteem of many. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS, Coach Tiger LaVerde has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Kirtland High School football team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on the field, and he has received respect and admiration for shepherding the team to the 2025 Division VI state crown; and

WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the Kirtland High School football team have gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Kirtland High School football team as the 2025 Division VI State Champion and honor all those who have contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Kirtland High School football team.
