A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Guggisberg Cheese as a 2026 World Championship Cheese Contest winner.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Guggisberg Cheese on being awarded Number 1 Baby Swiss in the World and Number 1 Swiss in the World at the 36th biennial World Championship Cheese Contest; and

WHEREAS, These prestigious honors are a fitting tribute to all those associated with Guggisberg Cheese, for they have consistently demonstrated exemplary professionalism and expertise, as well as an unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards. The tremendous effort and initiative displayed by the management and employees have been instrumental in the success of the venture, and the dedication of each person is certainly worthy of acknowledgement; and

WHEREAS, It is not surprising that Guggisberg Cheese has achieved renown, for since its inception, it has striven for excellence. At this year’s World Championship Cheese Contest, the company won first, second, and third place in the baby Swiss category with its Guggisberg Ziller and first and third place in the rindless Swiss class with its Guggisberg Premium Swiss. Indeed, the business exemplifies the American entrepreneurial spirit and sets the benchmark to which other such enterprises can aspire; and

WHEREAS, Ohio’s economic well-being depends on innovative business entrepreneurs to provide goods and services to the citizens of our state. We are proud to note that it is through the diligence of individuals such as everyone affiliated with Guggisberg Cheese, who are willing to invest in the future of their community, that Ohio remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Guggisberg Cheese on its recent international accolades and offer best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Guggisberg Cheese.
