A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring The Ohio State University pistol team on securing the 2026 National Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend The Ohio State University pistol team as the 2026 National Champion; and

WHEREAS, The Ohio State University pistol team is made up of remarkable athletes who have worked diligently to showcase the collective talents of their exceptional squad. At this year's National Championship, the Buckeyes won all three events to secure the national crown with a score of 6,716, their sixth consecutive such title, and the members amply demonstrated impressive determination, maturity, and finesse in pursuit of this achievement; and

WHEREAS, This triumph reflects the staunch resolve of these young individuals, and it signifies the acquisition of valuable experience that is sure to benefit them in later life. Thanks to the tireless efforts of an exceptional Ohio State University pistol team coaching staff, including Head Coach Emil Milev, as well as the support of their Buckeye community, these athletes have met the demands of an extensive training regimen, and they have just cause for celebration; and

WHEREAS, All those who comprise The Ohio State University pistol team have set an excellent example of what a dedicated group of sharpshooters can achieve when guided by a committed coaching staff and surrounded by loyal fans, sports families, and boosters. These young competitors have certainly proven themselves to be dynamic leaders, and we are confident that as they meet future challenges, they will take with them the valuable lessons they have gained through their participation in shooting; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate The Ohio State University pistol team on its 2026 National Championship title and count its members and coaches among the ranks of outstanding citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University pistol team.
