A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Gideon Mills as a 2026 OHSAA 7th & 8th Grade State Champion in track and field.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Gideon Mills on winning the 100-meter run at the 2026 OHSAA 7th & 8th Grade State Track and Field Championships; and
WHEREAS, A student at Bloom-Carroll Middle School, Gideon Mills has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional athlete. A strong competitor, he has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in his events, and as a result, he placed first in the 100-meter run with a time of 11.38 at this year's OHSAA 7th & 8th Grade State Track and Field Championships, while also placing second in the 400‑meter run and third in the 200-meter run; and
WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Gideon Mills has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion. His unwavering commitment to excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is certainly deserving of high praise; and
WHEREAS, Gideon Mills' accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his coaches, his school, and his community. Indeed, the same maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Gideon Mills on his athletic success and salute him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Gideon Mills.
