A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Brett Beury as a 2026 Division III State Track and Field Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Brett Beury on winning first place in the discus at the 2026 Division III State Track and Field Meet; and
WHEREAS, Brett Beury is deserving of this prestigious title, a tribute to the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable spirit that he has so amply displayed as a member of the Firelands High School boys track and field team. A tenacious competitor, he won the discus event with a throw of 188 feet, 8 inches at this year's Division III State Track and Field Meet, and understandably, the strength, agility, stamina, and skill that he has exhibited have earned him many admirers; and
WHEREAS, Brett Beury has conscientiously applied himself to the quest for excellence as an athlete, training diligently in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, he has risen to the occasion, maintaining his morale, composure, and good sportsmanship, and he has gained the esteem of all those who have followed his athletic journey this season; and
WHEREAS, Brett Beury's enthusiastic involvement in track and field has enabled him to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and leadership, and in the process, his exceptional prowess has set a fine example that is sure to inspire future generations of athletes. Throughout extensive practice and preparation, he has developed into a dynamic competitor, and it is our hope that he will take the lessons learned from this triumph and apply them well as he pursues his goals in the years ahead; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute Brett Beury on his remarkable success and commend him on an outstanding season; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Brett Beury.
