A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Waynedale High School baseball team as the 2026 Division V State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Waynedale High School baseball team on securing the 2026 Division V State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Waynedale High School baseball team has achieved a tremendous feat in winning its second consecutive state crown and fourth such title in five years. The Golden Bears' strong performance against a tough Columbus Academy squad, combined with an adept drive to succeed, has led the group to this outstanding 9-5 victory, and the program as a whole has earned the appreciation and admiration of many; and

WHEREAS, The accomplishments and development of the Waynedale High School baseball team are fine examples of what can be attained by a group of hard-working young people supported by a dedicated coaching staff such as the one led by Lucas Daugherty. Throughout extensive conditioning and training, the members have developed into dynamic competitors, and they are deserving of acknowledgement; and

WHEREAS, With great admiration, we congratulate the athletes who comprise the Waynedale High School baseball team, for they have overcome many formidable opponents and displayed tremendous prowess. Indeed, we are confident that as they meet their future challenges, they will take with them the lessons of camaraderie, diligence, and discipline; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, heartily applaud the Waynedale High School baseball team as the 2026 Division V State Champion and praise the strength of this program and its participating athletes; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Waynedale High School baseball team.
