A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring the Perkins High School baseball team on winning the 2026 Division IV State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Perkins High School baseball team as the 2026 Division IV State Champion; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Perkins High School baseball team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. At the 2026 Division IV State Championship game, the Pirates defeated the team from Bishop Fenwick High School 5-1 to secure the first state title in program history, and the unwavering commitment of the players and coaches has earned them the esteem of many. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and
WHEREAS, Coach T.J. Blanton has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Perkins High School baseball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad's outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on the diamond, and he has received respect and admiration from all who know him; and
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the Perkins High School baseball team have gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Perkins High School baseball team as the 2026 Division IV State Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Perkins High School baseball team.
