A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival on its one hundredth year.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival on the auspicious occasion of its one hundredth annual event, July 8-12, 2026; and

WHEREAS, Established by Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church a century ago, the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival has allowed local citizens to gather annually to enjoy great Italian food, entertainment, and culture. The friendliness and neighborly atmosphere of this special event have certainly distinguished it as one of Ohio's finest summer celebrations; and

WHEREAS, Since its inception, the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival has benefited from a generous and civic-minded group of people who have worked so diligently to ensure the success of the festival and have displayed a commendable spirit of cooperation and commitment. The optimism and determination found among the area's citizens are truly deserving of high praise, and the festival provides them with a special opportunity to further demonstrate their community pride; and

WHEREAS, America is only as strong as her individual communities, which are unique and which make significant contributions to the culture of our state and nation, and neighborhood celebrations play a large role in these communities' heritage. The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival offers area residents a venue in which to share their talents and experiences and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community, for they have built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a future filled with hope and promise; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Italian Festival on its one hundredth annual occurrence and extend best wishes for perpetual good fortune; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
