A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Dominic Knapp on securing the 2026 Division III State Track and Field Championship in the pole vault.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Dominic Knapp as the 2026 Division III State Champion in the pole vault; and

WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Dominic Knapp is deserving of recognition for his exemplary accomplishments as a junior member of the Bloom-Carroll High School track and field team. An exceptional athlete, he placed first in the pole vault at this year's Division III State Meet with a height of 15 feet, 10 inches, and his notable record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for others to emulate; and

WHEREAS, Through his participation in track and field, Dominic Knapp has learned important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him throughout his life. Indeed, he has inspired countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and he has set an example worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of countless youth, we are happy to congratulate such a fine athlete as Dominic Knapp; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Dominic Knapp on winning the 2026 Division III State Pole Vault Championship and salute him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Dominic Knapp.
