A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the McGuffey Centre on its Centennial.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the McGuffey Centre on its One Hundredth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Congratulations are certainly in order, and it is fitting that this auspicious occasion be exuberantly commemorated. Founded in 1926, the McGuffey Centre has long been one of the area's most important resources. Indeed, it has effectively served in myriad niches, providing generations of people with paramount programs, enriching engagement, and meaningful initiatives, and it can always be relied upon to nurture and care for those living on Youngstown's East Side; and

WHEREAS, Since its establishment, the McGuffey Centre has played a valuable role in helping and inspiring innumerable Youngstown residents, and its commitment to collaboration, innovation, and investment has been readily displayed over the past century. Known as a place where neighbors gather and grow, the organization has set a fine example of achievement that is worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, In working to best serve the community, the fine people behind the McGuffey Centre have demonstrated great commitment, leadership, foresight, and support. With energy and enthusiasm, the staff has worked diligently to improve the Youngstown area, and they are all deserving of praise for embodying civic and conscientious concern; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the McGuffey Centre on its One Hundredth Anniversary and offer best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the McGuffey Centre.
