A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Ra’Ny Hands as a 2026 OHSAA 7th 8th Grade Division B State Champion in track and field.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Ra'Ny Hands on placing first in the 200-meter dash at the 2026 OHSAA 7th & 8th Grade Division B State Meet; and

WHEREAS, A diligent and capable individual, Ra'Ny Hands is, indeed, deserving of special recognition for her outstanding accomplishments in track and field. At this year's OHSAA 7th & 8th Grade Division B State Meet, she placed first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.67 and second in the 400-meter dash, and she went on to the 2026 Adidas Track Nationals, where she placed third in the 400-meter dash and received All-American honors. Clearly, her exemplary record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS, In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a valuable educational tool. Through her involvement in sports, Ra'Ny Hands has learned the important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her life; and

WHEREAS, Ra'Ny Hands has conscientiously applied herself to the quest for excellence as an athlete, training and practicing diligently in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, she has risen to the occasion, maintaining her morale, composure, and good sportsmanship, and she has gained the respect of even her most determined rivals. Clearly, her enthusiastic involvement in track and field and her exceptional prowess has made her family and friends very proud; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Ra'Ny Hands on her exceptional performance and extend best wishes for continued success as she begins her studies at Scott High School; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Ra'Ny Hands.
