A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Cleveland Cultural Gardens on its One Hundred Tenth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Cleveland Cultural Gardens on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundred Tenth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a fitting tribute to the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, for since its inception, it has been a valuable part of the area. Started in 1916, this green space in Rockefeller Park is currently made up of thirty-seven gardens honoring various ethnic and cultural communities that have contributed to the success of the City of Cleveland, and it has been earnestly supported over the years by the Cleveland Cultural Gardens Federation. The accomplishments of this public resource are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection on the grounds as well as on the hard-working staff and volunteers; and

WHEREAS, Over the past eleven decades, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens has enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and its generous contributions have earned it the gratitude and respect of many. We are certain it will continue to garner an appreciation for the diversity of the local populace, and it will maintain the tradition of excellence that has long been its hallmark; and

WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing efforts of venues such as the Cleveland Cultural Gardens that the State of Ohio has remained a pleasant place in which to live and work. On this milestone, we look with optimism to the ongoing outreach of the open-air museum, and as it welcomes the development of a new visitor center in the former Stonebrook-White Montessori building, it is truly deserving of high praise for furthering its meaningful endeavors to engage the community; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Cleveland Cultural Gardens on its One Hundred Tenth Anniversary and salute it as a fine Ohio collaboration; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.
