A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the YWCA of Alliance on its Centennial.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the YWCA of Alliance on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Over the past century, the employees and volunteers of the YWCA of Alliance have directed themselves toward meaningful involvement in many beneficial programs and activities throughout the area, including providing transitional housing for women and families, offering childcare and job training, and advocating for gender equality and racial justice, and they have certainly distinguished themselves as dynamic leaders in their community. A dedicated group of individuals, they have donated countless hours of their time to meeting the needs of local residents, and their numerous achievements are truly praiseworthy; and

WHEREAS, During the celebration of this milestone, all those associated with the YWCA of Alliance have the opportunity to reaffirm their goals and to formulate policies to meet the challenges and responsibilities of the future. Willingly giving of their energy and abilities, the management and staff, both past and present, have worked tirelessly to better the world around them. We are proud to note that it is through the diligent efforts of conscientious people such as these that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; and

WHEREAS, It is not surprising that the YWCA of Alliance has achieved widespread acclaim, for it has far surpassed the expectations of its founders. Indeed, it has exemplified the spirit of cooperation and has set the standard to which other such organizations can aspire; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the YWCA of Alliance on its Centennial and look to its future with great optimism; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the YWCA of Alliance.
