A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Canton Palace Theatre on its One Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Canton Palace Theatre on the celebration of its Centennial; and

WHEREAS, The Canton Palace Theatre is worthy of acknowledgement for its outstanding efforts to delight area audiences, and since becoming a part of the community on November 22, 1926, it has grown its prestigious reputation as a vibrant source of entertainment in the surrounding region. Over the past century, the establishment has featured quality productions that promote local and national talent, and this milestone provides an opportunity to pay tribute to its success; and

WHEREAS, It is through the work of individuals such as all those associated with the Canton Palace Theatre, who have been conscientious citizens, that our state's arts community has come to be widely respected. We commend this outstanding group of people, including past and present leadership, performers, crew, and volunteers, for one hundred years of making a tremendous impact on the economy and culture of the community; and

WHEREAS, The Ohioans who have supported the Canton Palace Theatre have amply demonstrated diligence and integrity, and they are certainly deserving of acclaim for their tireless initiative and unwavering commitment to furthering the performing arts across Stark County. Indeed, their vision has continued a tradition of excellence that has gained ample esteem, and we look with optimism as they dedicate themselves to the Palace100 Expansion Project that will invest in the theater for many decades to come; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Canton Palace Theatre on its One Hundredth Anniversary and salute it as a fine Ohio endeavor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Canton Palace Theatre.
